Future Leadership is delighted to announce the appointment of Craig Rodgers as the new Deputy Principal of Aitken College.

Craig brings a deep and enduring commitment to education that nurtures the whole child. Across his career, he has sought to lead in innovative, high-achieving learning environments where every student is known, nurtured and loved. His alignment with Aitken College’s values of compassion, excellence, honesty, kindness and respect is evident in both his professional practice and personal ethos.

Craig believes education is a transformative responsibility—one that prioritises wellbeing, celebrates student success, and fosters meaningful belonging. He is a passionate advocate for learning that is not only academically rigorous but also creative, purposeful and grounded in authentic community engagement. His leadership is distinguished by a clear focus on how schools implement learning—drawing on research, data and technology to support strategic, whole-school goals.

Craig has contributed significantly to the broader educational landscape, including as former Chair of the IB Diploma Programme Coordinator Network for Victoria and Tasmania, where he led initiatives to build professional collaboration and community impact. His work across curriculum development, student induction, international education, arts events, and leadership of experiential learning programs reflects a holistic approach to education grounded in service, scholarship and connection.

Craig’s belief that “true communities connect” underpins his leadership style—one defined by presence, visibility and deep listening. He is known for fostering collaborative school cultures that value curiosity, courageous thinking and student voice.
