This is a unique opportunity to play an important role in regulatory decision-making to deliver strong consumer outcomes across telecommunications, broadcasting, radiocommunications, interactive gambling, spam and scams.
Suitable candidates will have extensive experience as a senior leader in the communications/media sectors and/or experience in areas such as business, financial management, economics, law or public administration, including experience delivering outcomes through established and emerging regulatory regimes. They will be exemplary leaders able to support ACMA to enhance trust and confidence in Australia’s communications and media sectors through effective and timely regulation; promoting consumer interests and public safety; and fostering effective relationships with consumer groups, industry and government stakeholders.

About ACMA
ACMA is responsible for regulating telecommunications, broadcasting, radiocommunications, scams, unsolicited communications, interactive gambling and some online content.
The agency has specific responsibilities set out under five principal Acts: Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005 (ACMA Act), Radiocommunications Act 1992, Telecommunications Act 1997, Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999, and Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and an extensive range of other regulatory instruments.
The agency has approximately 470 staff across three central offices in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. The Agency Head manages a combined Departmental and Administered budget of around $129 million per annum and the Agency also collects significant revenues on behalf of the Commonwealth.
