Champion business transformation and provide inspirational leadership

The Brief
After a long and impactful career of over 16 years as the Chief Executive of a national health organisation, the incumbent communicated her resignation to the Board. The organisation subsequently selected Future Leadership to partner on this search, given the strong relationship developed over a number of years.
The role of the Chief Executive would be to lead and manage the organisation to deliver on its strategic and business plans, in alignment with the organisation’s purpose and in accordance with the Fundamental Principles of its parent body. The ideal candidates would demonstrate a high level of transformation experience, particularly in digital areas, including automation and data science, people leadership, consumer engagement, and service improvement. Proven executive leaders within the health and life sciences sectors were highly regarded.

The Process
A detailed briefing with the Chair and Executive Director of People and Culture identified that candidates with a commercial background in leading a large organisation through a transformative process would be highly valued.
The Future Leadership team utilised their extensive networks, database, and referral partners to identify potential candidates both nationally and internationally. Future Leadership presented a shortlist of five candidates, including leaders from Australian health services and those with global life sciences experience. Three candidates were selected to progress to first-round panel interviews with the subcommittee. All shortlisted candidates were fully reference-checked, with extensive checks completed on the preferred candidate to support the organisation in their final decision.
