Future Leadership was engaged by a local government organisation in an inner-city suburban area of Melbourne to conduct a Culture and Wellbeing Check-In program.
The focus was on two specific teams: the Early Years Childcare Centre Team and the Arts, Culture, and Place Performing Arts Venue. The goal was to assess and improve the workplace culture, relationships, communication, and overall wellbeing of the staff, especially in light of challenges such as staff shortages and the need for psychological safety.

The Process
Future Leadership implemented a structured approach to the Culture and Wellbeing Check-In program:
- Confidential Check-Ins:
Confidential 30-minute one-on-one check-ins were held onsite with each team member, including permanent, casual, and agency staff. These sessions were conducted by a Wellbeing Strategist from Future Leadership. - Individual Strategies:
Each team member received tailored strategies in a coaching format to address their specific concerns and challenges. - Comprehensive Reporting:
A comprehensive report summarised the de-identified feedback and included recommendations on key issues such as staff shortages, teamwork, communication, trust, administration processes, psychological safety, and reconnecting with the public. The report was presented to the managers at the Council during an online debrief.
