Transforming Leadership Mindset and Team Dynamics for a Leading Health Insurance Organisation

Team Acceleration

The Brief

A major health insurance organisation sought to enhance the leadership performance and cohesion of its executive team by fostering an Enterprise Leadership Mindset. The program aimed to strengthen team chemistry, build trust, and create a culture of open communication. Specifically, the leadership team was encouraged to embrace bold conversations, address critical issues with respect, and drive performance aligned with organisational goals.

Partnering with Future Leadership™, the organisation launched the We Will program—a comprehensive initiative tailored to enhance leadership effectiveness, improve strategic collaboration, and drive organisational cohesion among the executive leadership team.

The Process

The program was designed using the Enterprise Leadership model, which promotes a balance between individual leadership and network-wide thinking. This model emphasises four key elements: a solidarity mindset, radical candour, enterprise-focused decision-making, and leveraging organisational networks.

Key components of the program included:

  • Welcome Session and Leadership Circle Insights: An introductory session to familiarise participants with the program’s core principles, coupled with feedback on individual leadership styles.
  • 1:1 Coaching Sessions: Personalised coaching to enhance self-awareness, clarify roles, and set leadership goals.
  • Residential Workshops: Four two-day immersive workshops focused on team alignment, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Immersive Experiences: Activities such as equine-assisted learning and organisational workshop simulations to practice systems thinking and reinforce collaborative dynamics.
  • Observation Meetings: Consultants observed executive team meetings to provide feedback on team dynamics, leadership contributions, and areas for improvement.

Following the success of this foundational phase, the program’s principles were extended to additional levels within the organisation to instil an enterprise mindset more widely.
