The Position

Cranbrook School is seeking an exceptional Deputy Head of Senior School, Wellbeing to lead and advance student wellbeing and pastoral care across Years 7 to 12, bringing deep expertise in managing complex student matters and embedding best-practice support aligned with the School’s culture, values and positive education approach.

The Deputy Head of Senior School, Wellbeing will have significant expertise and experience in managing student wellbeing in a school setting, in managing complex student matters, as well as a strong understanding of best practice in the support of students with diverse needs. They will have an excellent knowledge of legislation and regulation, with a proven capacity to develop and implement processes to manage and minimise risk and work towards positive outcomes. Their approach to student wellbeing will be aligned with the school’s culture, values and positive education approach.

The Deputy Head of Senior School, Wellbeing will provide guidance and support in managing student wellbeing as well as being an escalation point for more serious student wellbeing matters.

The person in this role is responsible for wellbeing and pastoral care in the Senior School, across Years 7 to 12. This includes fostering a positive student culture; supporting students with identified needs; managing behavioural issues; responding to students with situational physical, mental or emotional concerns; and compliance with school policy and government legislation with regard to arising concerns.
