The Position

The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) now seeks to appoint an innovative, entrepreneurial leader with strong people skills and an active faith to the position of Executive Director of the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC). This is a key executive position within ACSQ focussed on establishing and maintaining positive relationships with school Principals and Councils and with ACSQ’s Education and Care Services (ECS), while providing strategic leadership for the development of new schools and ECS’s.

The Executive Director is responsible to the Commission and the ACSQ General Manager, for providing strategic direction to ACSQ, the Commission and Anglican schools and ECS, and for the monitoring of Anglican schools and ECS. The Executive Director will lead and coordinate strategic research, planning and operational execution for the ACSQ’s engagement with Anglican schools and ECS, ensuring alignment with the broader mission of the Anglican Church. Led by the Executive Director, the ASC has a critical relational role with Principals and schools, ensuring they work collaboratively in relation to the ethos and spiritual responsibilities of the school.

The incoming Executive Director will present with prior knowledge of and leadership experience gained in an educational environment, along with the ability to maintain and improve educational standards. A demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a clear vision and strategic direction for the schools and ECS will be essential, combined with the capability to align direction, strategy, and behaviour with the broader mission of the Anglican Church. Superior relationship and stakeholder management skills will support engagement with school leaders, and the growth of the schools network. The successful candidate will present with executive gravitas, the ability to bring others on the journey and deliver outcomes through influence and mutual respect. The appointed candidate will demonstrate a strong faith life and a commitment to contemporary Anglicanism and inclusivity.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of education and care services within ACSQ through visionary leadership and collaboration.
