The Position

The Women’s College, within the University of Queensland, is seeking a visionary leader to be the next Head and Chief Executive Officer. The Head of College will be an inspirational role model for young women from a diverse range of backgrounds. In addition to possessing a high level of business and managerial skills, the Head will also embody our values of Community, Diversity, Empowerment, Excellence, Integrity and Respect.

Reporting to the President of the College Council, the Head of College will provide leadership of the academic, cultural and pastoral life of the College community, whilst also overseeing the efficient and effective management of College resources and operations to achieve the strategic directions of the College. The Head of College will interact and engage effectively with students and be understanding of, and sensitive to, their needs. With genuine care, empathy and compassion, the Head will have the ability to engender respect, trust and loyalty within the student and staff population, as well as with alumnae and other stakeholders.

 

The Organisation

The Women’s College is a residential college within The University of Queensland.  Established in 1914, we enjoy a strong tradition of providing a supportive and nurturing home-away-from-home experience for more than 250 women who relocate to Brisbane each year to undertake tertiary studies.

The College is dedicated to the academic and personal development needs of our students, providing pastoral care and offering a diverse range of leadership, sporting, cultural, community service and social activities.

At Women’s, there are no stereotypes about what women should do, but there are unlimited expectations about what women can do.
