  • Lead strategically, building people, culture and sustainable excellence

The Position

St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar School is seeking an outstanding Principal to provide visionary, values‑led leadership for one of South Australia’s most respected Anglican primary schools.

Reporting to the School Council, the Principal holds overarching responsibility for the educational, pastoral, spiritual and operational life of the School, ensuring the sustained delivery of an exceptional learning experience for every child. The role requires strategic leadership of contemporary and future‑focused teaching and learning, stewardship of the School’s culture and values, and the ongoing development of a high‑performing, reflective staff community.

As the School’s chief educational and executive leader, the Principal will translate strategic intent into effective action, oversee all aspects of governance, finance, resourcing and compliance, and serve as a visible, relational leader who builds trust, inspires confidence and meaningfully engages with students, staff, families, parish and the wider community. The Principal will authentically lead the spiritual life of the School, upholding Christian values within the Anglican tradition and ensuring that wellbeing, service and purpose sit at the heart of the SPW experience.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished and future‑focused educational leader with demonstrated success in senior leadership roles, ideally within a primary or junior years context. They will bring deep educational expertise complemented by sound commercial and operational acumen, enabling them to lead a complex, multifaceted organisation with confidence.

The successful applicant will be a visible, empathetic and highly relational leader, recognised for their ability to engage diverse stakeholders and foster a culture of trust, collaboration and continuous improvement. Outstanding communication skills, a consultative leadership style balanced with decisiveness, and personal qualities of energy, resilience, warmth and humour will be essential.
