The Position
Toowoomba Grammar School is seeking an inspiring and collaborative leader for the position of Head of Department – Arts. As part of the academic leadership team, this role is pivotal in promoting the educational vision of the School, providing strategic direction, and driving excellence in the delivery of arts education. Reporting to the Headmaster through the Deputy Headmaster and working under the supervision of the Director of Learning and Innovation, the Head of Department – Arts will ensure that arts programs (Music, Drama and Visual Art) engage and inspire students while achieving exceptional learning outcomes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional integrity, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate both staff and students. They will possess a strong commitment to boys’ education, shaping a learning environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
The Organisation
Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) was founded in 1875. It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.
