Introducing Psychometric Assessments to Enhance Leadership Selection at Leading Global Technology Organisation

Defence technology

The Brief

In 2018, a global technology organisation sought a partner to introduce psychometric assessments to support best practice recruitment and selection processes across a variety of leadership roles.

The organisation had used assessment tools previously but in an ad-hoc manner, without consistent use across key leadership selection processes. Future Leadership partnered with the organisation to deliver a comprehensive assessment approach that would be consistently applied to their leadership recruitment.

The Process

We partnered with the organisation to deliver the following:

  • For the first three roles we completed, we interviewed a number of stakeholders and built Success Profiles outlining key attributes, skills, experiences, and performance differentiators that underpin success in the roles (Head of positions).
  • We then selected the Hogan Personality Inventory and Hogan Development Survey tools that mapped appropriately to the Success Profiles and administered these tools as part of the recruitment process for the roles.
  • We were then invited by the organisation’s Talent Acquisition team to conduct a train-the-trainer session and teach the team how to create Success Profiles so that they could embed that process internally as part of their ongoing efforts to define role success.
  • Since 2018, the organisation has partnered with Future Leadership to include the Hogan profiles, comprehensive reports, and debriefs on over 45 roles at C-suite, Executive, and Senior Manager levels across a variety of technical and non-technical functions, assessing over 100 candidates.
