The Position
Aitken College is seeking a Deputy Principal who will be responsible to the Principal and has the role of assisting and supporting the Principal in the leadership and management of all aspects of strategic operations. The role also involves actively upholding and promoting providing active support for the Christian foundation and ethos of the College. The Deputy Principal is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the College and will teach approximately 0.2 FTE.
The role of the Deputy Principal at Aitken College is integral to promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing school community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a supportive work environment, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing, morale, and professional standards. Additionally, they will monitor and foster the wellbeing of students by working collaboratively with staff, students and families.
The desired candidate will support the broader College community by assisting with the Aitken Alumni and Parents and Friends Association, with a strong focus on promoting the College to prospective families. The Deputy Principal also remains informed about curriculum developments, post-school pathways, and educational best practices, helping to ensure Aitken College maintains its commitment to excellence in learning, service, and community engagement.
