The Position 
The QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute seeks a collegiate and inspiring executive to take a leading role in supporting the Institute in the achievement of its vision, mission, goals and objectives through the provision of strategic and operational leadership of the Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics facility. This facility has been at the forefront of the cell therapy manufacturing field for 25 years.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and leading a team of nearly 30 staff, QIMB Berghofer is appointing an experienced General Manager, Q-Gen who will ensure this facility achieves optimal operating efficiency through the leadership of a diverse, cross-functional team in activities including Quality Control & Assurance and Manufacturing,  The identification and follow through on business development opportunities in collaboration with members of the management team to align resources and review strategic objectives will be  critical function of the role. Engaging widely with both internal and external stakeholders, this role drives a culture of excellence in customer service, seeking solutions to complex technical challenges.

The GM, Q-Gen will bring proven experience of leadership in a scientific/technical/clinical context. With teams engaged in diverse activities, the successful candidate will be adept at leading with a shared vision and mission. Quality will be a guiding principle for this role, understanding the essentials of good manufacturing practice and the associated regulatory compliance including TGA, FDA and NATA. Degree, and ideally postgraduate qualifications, in science, biological science or medical science will underpin your relevant career experience. This is a role for a leader with the ambition to influence and direct the activities of a key business unit with significant potential.
