Dr Marianne Broadbent

Dr Marianne Broadbent works with top-level companies and government organisations on their leadership, people, talent and capability challenges. She enables global, ASX-listed, private and Government organisations, Boards, CEOs, C-level executives and senior leaders to develop strategic executive and team capabilities. With experience in global firms around the world, Marianne is dedicated to empowering and supporting senior leaders to be the best they can be. She has extensive experience in executive education, works alongside and advising CEOs, facilitates and accelerates executive team performance, and supports executive search for boards and senior executive appointments. 

Marianne’s eclectic career includes nine years at Gartner in two global executive roles: as Senior Vice-President for Global Strategy/New Product Development. Prior to that, as Group Vice-President for Gartner’s Executive Programs. Her academic career includes appointment as Associate Dean and Professor at Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, where she led the School’s Senior Executive MBA. As well, she headed the School’s Key Centre for Technology Management and was a Visiting Researcher at Boston University.

Marianne is a published writer and practice leader with an extensive publication record. This includes two Harvard Business School Press best sellers and The Agile Executive: Embracing Career Risks and Rewards which has been described as ‘compulsory reading for all women (and men too!) who aspire to succeed in corporate life’.

Marianne holds a BA DipEd from the University of Sydney, a Master of Arts from Macquarie University, a PhD from Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne and an A.Mus.A. (AMEB). She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Board of The Conversation Media Group and the Board of the Melbourne Forum.  She has been a Finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year and has been a judge for The Australian’s Innovation Challenge.
